Have you successfully eliminated any garden "pests" from your garden using organic methods? What was it and how did you deal with the issue? Thanks for watching, rating & commenting!

Just a heads up that while a good barn cat WILL effectively solve your rodent problem, the little killing machine isn't going to stop there. It'll also kill all your frogs and geckos, and you NEED those to keep the slug, snail and bug populations down.

At least, that's what happened to me. Got cats. They killed all the frogs. Now there are snails all over the place.

On the plus side, they did also kill off all the mice, voles, and even rats and moles. Plus the neighboirs' chickens. Allegedly.

Just saying. Cats are no joke. Apply to garden eco systems responsibly.

Keeping chickens and ducks is helpful in that they like to eat insects and slugs. You get eggs and dinner meats from them too 🙂 Chickens can kick in loose dirt and can't be let on land with seeds or delicate seedlings in it.

🌟Beer 🍺 for snails 🐌. Take plastic bottle, about 1 litre, & fill 1/4 with beer. Lay horisontally on the ground with some stone under the opening so snails can climbe inside. Maybe you need to make opening bigger, depending on the size of snails.
🌟🌟 Wool 🐑 for 🦌.. Sheepwool against deers..though it needs to be replaiced after a while. Best thing is heartshaped white cardboard hangng here & there.. It should be the same size as reindeers bot***m, since they use it as warning to eachother 🙏

For pest insects, a lot of the time you can encourage beneficial predatory and/or parasitic insects to keep the pest insect numbers low. Creating spots of ideal habitation for those beneficial insects and putting in plants that attract those beneficial insects is a good start, especially pollen-geavy plants. There are also many plants that will repel or confuse pest insects, often times being herbs and spices, which is often why humans first domesticated those plant species.

Absolutely with these techniques, and in this order! Aphids have hit us hard, relentlessly, despite blasting them off with water and treating with soap and water. Everything else we've had has been workable.

Rats: I use Dubble Bubble bubblegum. I buy the large three pound bag for about $8 at the local bulk discount store (Smart & Final in my area). I put 6 pieces (fresh and still in the wrapper ) where I think there may be rats like the base of a tree or corner of the shed, etc… then the next day I check and see if any have been taken. Replenish as necessary until the gum is left alone. Pretty soon you will smell the dead rats.I also use the Ratinator live trap and the included Dunk Tank. The Ratinator can catch multiple rats without resetting. Same goes for the Squirrelinator(model #90,000 includes the required "watertight transport bin" aka Dunk Tank) for squirrels. I used to use the Havahart live trap but that only catches one squrirrel and then needs to be reset, it also required a massive watertight storage bin to accomplish the dunking. Please do not transport live rodents to set free in someone else's neighborhood passing your problem pest onto someone else.
